About 750 doctors attended the COVID patients in the second wave in the nation who also got infected and died to the virus. However, the Union government which had announced of Rs 1crore compensation has not yet given a single rupee to their kins. Of the deceased 28 doctors are from Karnataka.The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has not got a single reply from the government despite brought to the notice several time.The IMA has made mandatory the doctors must be Vaccinated before attending the infected. Almost all the 28 from Karnataka died were vaccinated first and second dose.Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Department Director Dr Omprakash Patil said ” The COVID death compensation will be given to the kins of the Aarogya Karyakartas (Health Activists) attached to government and private health and not to those who attached to private hospitals”. He added that the Karnataka Chapter has forwarded all the compensation application to the Central government.
