A high-level meeting was headed by CM B S Yediyurappa in Vidhana Soudha on Monday regarding the reopening of the Schools and PU colleges at the state. The State Govt. has decided to keep the Schools and the PU Colleges shut in the December.
Speaking after the meeting the Primary and Secondary Education Minister Suresh Kumar said that the government decided not to reopen schools and PU colleges in December citing the recommendations made by the experts of Covid-19 Advisory Committee of the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Even though the education department, following opinion by the education experts and other stakeholders, was considering reopening schools and PU colleges in December after a lengthy gap of 7 months, the decision was left to the Chief Minister and accordingly a meeting was convened today.
Adding as we will hold another round of meeting in the third week of December to discuss the issue, the minister finally said that the classes would continue via Doordarshan for kids from classes 5th standard to 10th standard.
