The students of Department of Architecture of KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, Belagavi have won the prestigious ‘Louis I. Khan Trophy’, organized by NASA, (National Association of Students of Architecture) India New Delhi.
Every year NASA India conducts this competition for the students of architecture across India take part into it. The basic objective of this event is to increase the awareness of India’s rich, diverse and unprotected historic environments. This academic year, the event was organized on the theme “Rudiments-Vernacular Traditions-Contemporary Architecture”. Around 60 institutes across India were participated in the event.
A team of students from Department of Architecture crafted a document portraying a ‘Khamir Art and Craft resource center’ situated at Kutch, Gujarat, and won 1st Place (Citation) in pan India. Prof. A.V. Prasadi and Prof. B. V. Gouripur guided the students. Governing Chairman, Shri M. R. Kulkarni, Dr. Jayant K. Kittur, Principal and the entire staff of KLS GIT congratulated the students for their commendable achievement.
