For the first time, Belagavi will witness the election of political parties to its local body, against on linguistic base earlier.

The Congress and BJP are getting ready for the election as it nominated In-charges to look after the election. BJP has nominated Minister Govind Karjol and Belagavi South MLA Abhay Patil while Congress nominated former minister MB Patil.

Hubballi-Dharwad and Kalaburagi City Corporations will also go for polls with Belagavi on Sept 3.
