To add colour to the celebration of the 75th Independence day, Artist Ajit Mahadev Awardkar from Vadagavi in Belagavi district has sketched the pictures of freedom fighters Mahatma Gandhi, Balagangadhar Tilak and Veer Savarkar in rangoli.

Awardkar took 21 hours to draw the pictures which have been kept for public view at Jyoti Photo Studio at Nazar Camp in Vadagavi from 8am to 8pm till Aug 20.

Awardkar said lakhs sacrificed their lives to get the freedom to the nation. It was the time to remember them by getting implemented their patriotism in life. He said he was briefing the information about the freedom fighters to the people who comes to see the drawings.

The artist had drew hundreds of such pictures in rangoli according to the circumstances.
