With an aim to administer 2 crore doses in September, Karnataka will vaccine five lakh doses everyday and double it on Wednesdays under “Lasika Mela” (vaccine fest) against COVID-19.
Health Minister K Sudhakar said the state had received 1.1 crore doses in August and planned to vaccinate 4.96 crore adult population by December 31. 65% of adult population has received the first dose, 20% has received the second dose.
Arrangements will also be made to vaccinate people living in slums by deploying nursing and health staff at nearby health facilities, he said and urged people to provide the same phone number while taking the second dose too to prevent skewed vaccination figures.
