Leaving his victory celebration in the middle, Shankar Patil contested independent from ward number 7 to Belagavi City Corporation and won by the margin of 114 votes, he left to the Sadashiva nagar crematorium and conducted the last rites of an orphan person killed in a road accident on Monday.

Medical Representative by profession, Shankar the resident of Ganachari galli on Kakatives road engaged in social work with former mayor Vijay More. His team conducted the last rites of hundreds of orphan dead people.

While celebrating his victory on Monday afternoon he got a call from Vijay More and left alone without informing to anyone. He been to Kakati police station, completed all the proceedure and cremated the dead body of an unknown person killed in a road accident recently.

Though not counted in Corona Warriors’ griup, Shankar Patil did yeoman work during the first and second hits of corona virus, he wore PPE kits and attended the positives. He also conducted the last rites of many lost their lives to the pandemic.

As the life of the poor turned bad to worst at the lockdown, he used Rs 2 lakh and distributed food grain to the poor families. The amount he spent was kept for his wedding.

Before switching on to Medical Representative’s post he used to drive his father’s passenger auto rickshaw and collected money for his wedding that he spent for poor.
