Marathi Actress Ishwari Dies in Car Accident at Goa

Panaji (Goa ) Ishwari Deshpande, who worked in a Marathi and a Hindi film, died in a car accident in Goa on Monday. The 25-year-old actress was traveling with her friend Shubham Dadge who also died on the spot.

The accident took place near Arpora in Hadfade village in Bardez taluka when Ishwari’s car plunged into Baga Creek at around 5:30 am. The deceased couldn’t get out of the car as it was centrally locked. Ishwari and her friend passed away due to drowning.

Ishwari and Shubham were about to get engaged next month. They had come to Goa on Wednesday, September 15. The actress has featured in a Marathi and Hindi film, both have not been released yet.

Police Inspector Suraj Gawas, in charge of Anjuna Police Station, said “Primary investigation suggests that the mishap took place because driver lost control of the car. After losing control, the car crossed over to the opposite corridor and again crossed over back before falling into a small creek. The fire brigade was called around 7 am. They managed to take out the car and the dead bodies of the two.”

Ishwari was set to make her Marathi film debut with Sunil Chauthmal’s “Premache Side Effects”.
