Belagavi District In-charge Minister Govind Karjol, n behalf of government on Thursday issued compensation cheque of Rs 30 lakh to Bhimappa Khanagavi whose family’s six members killed when his house at Badalankalagi in Belagavi taluk collapsed on Wednesday night.

The minister also issued compensation cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the parents of Kashawwa who also killed in the same incident. The Karnataka government has also assured of constructing the new house for Khanagavi at the same place where his house collapsed.

As three among the seven died in the incident were children, the Women and Child Welfare department would also give compensation of Rs 1 lakh to the nearest kins of the deceased children.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced exe-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the death of each to their kins.
