Belagavi : The Election Commission will issue notification to the MLC election in the state on Nov 16. Election scheduled on Dec 10.

Speaking to news persons at his office, Deputy Commissinor MG Hiremath said Nov 23 was the last date to file candidature and Nov 26 was the last date to take back the contest form. Counting of votes will be held on Dec 14.

He said the election in the district will be held for two seats which the members of the local bodies elect. The members of the term completed bodies cannot have voting power. As the Election Code of Confuct is in force no new developmental works should be taken, however, the ongoing works should be carried on.

Election will be conducted for 25 seats including 2 in Belagavi district.
