Share

As police instructed Christians not to conduct Sunday prayer services and masses in few places and the attack on prayer houses and threat not to conduct prayers by Hindu organisations in Belagavi district was mounting up in recent days, Christians appealed police to give them protection and to worship their God.

A delegation led by Belagavi Bishop Derek Fernandes met Belagavi Police Commissioner Tyagarajan and briefed the instructions if his under officers to Christians not to conduct prayer services in few places and also appealed the department to give Christians and their worship places security so that they worship the Lord God as earlier.

Later, speaking to news persons, Bishop Fernandes said that Police Commissioner Tyagarajan has told them he would check which of his subordinates instructed not to conduct the prayer services and also assured of giving protection to Christians and their worship houses.
