As there was threat of attack of vibrant coronavirus Omicron in Belagavi and Dharward districts, Congress senior leader, MLA RV Deshpande has urged the government to reconsider its decision of conducting the Legislative Session in Belagavi scheduled from Dec 10 to 24.
Speaking to news persons at Karwar, he said it was good to cancel the Belagavi session, instead conduct at Bengaluru. He said Belagavi and Dharward were seeing more corona cases in recent days, it may spread fast as Maharashtra is near to Belagavi where the pandemic is in rise.
He said about 4 to 5 thousand official, police personal and other staff have to come Belagavi for the session. It was nothing but pushing their and local Belgaumites lives into risk by conducting the session.
He said Congress had urged the government for Belagavi session, however, while its urge was to reconsider its decision for the sake of people and he hope that
the government may take a wise decision over the matter.
