The foursome were correcting the punchers of their lorry tube by parking the vehicle roadside when a speeding gas tanker hit the lorry from rare side at Doddasidavanahalli in Chitradurga tsluk.

Four were transporting onion from Ron in Gadag district to Bengaluru in the lorry. All killed on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as Hulugappa from Raichur, Manjunath from Kusthagi, Sanjay from Vijayapur and lorry driver Sharanappa from Ron.
