As not yet issued laptops necessary for project assignments, the fourth semester students belonging to SC and ST committee of Rani Channamma University, Belagavi gheraoed Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai when he returning after laying foundation stone to construct the new buildings of the university at Hirebagewadi in Belagavi taluk on Wednesday.

Students alleged that the V-C of the university was lying them about giving laptops. Though government giving laptops to the students of their community, were not given yet. Just four months left to the completion of the fourth and final semester of the PG students, how can they complete their assignment project in less time, they asked and said their are 316 of their community who yet to be given the laptops.

Though the chief minister assured them of providing the laptops early, students said they would continue their stir until given.
