The mortal remains of medical student Naveen who was killed in a Russian cell attack on Ukraine on March 1 has been brought to his native Chalageri in Ranebennur taluk of Haveri district.
The carcass which arrived to Kempegowda International Airport at around 3 am was received by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and a few of his cabinet members was handed over to his parents and sent to his native in an ambulance.
After conducting the rituals according to the Veerashaiva community the body was kept for last respect from people. Thousands paid their last tribute to the departed Naveen. The body will be kept for public view till 2 pm and will be taken it in a procession to SS Medical College at Davanagere where it would be donated to the college for students’ education.
Naveen who was studying in 4th-year MBBS course along with his collegemates took shelter at Bunker and unfortunately he went out to get food when he was attacked by a Russian missile. After completing the formalities his dead body reached his home in Karnataka after 21 days.
