The Principal District and Sessions Court, Belagavi will deliver its verdict on sensetional murder case of Ankola based politician and businessman NR Nayak who was reportedly killed by underworld actuvist Bannanje Raja and 12 others, on Wednesday afternoon.
Nayak involved in exporting ironore from Ballari to countries like Japan, China was shot dead in his home taluk in Karwar district nine year ago. A gang armed with sophisticated weapons, shot at Nayak when he was returning home after morning walk, in his car. Mangaluru based notorious gangster Bannanje Raja was reportedly behind the killing of Nayak.
Nayak was killed as could not pay the hafta of Rs 3 crore to Bannanje Raja. The henchmen of Raja were the sharp shooters from Mumbai underworld.
Bannanje Raja and his henchmen who have been lodged at Hindalaga jail at Belagavi would be brought to the jail before lunch session.
Nayak was killed nine year ago and the court under Karnataka Control of Organised Crime ( KCOCA) has heared the hearing for seven years. Nayak’s murder case verdict would be the first ever in KCOC Act in the state.
