In the field of cooperation, everyone is equal. The people don’t want ‘cooperator Sahukar’ but the plain cooperator said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking after inaugurating the new building of Sri Mahantesh Kavatagimath Souhardha Sahakari and Institute here on Wednesday, he said the government and cooperation are like two wheels of progress and these two will help to lead the state and to do good to the society. The cooperative banks must think in this direction.
Full support to cooperative field
The CM said the government has implemented several schemes for SC/ST, OBC, women, farmers, and self-help groups. The schemes are supported by the government and banks and the cooperative societies must join hands with the government in these schemes. All the support is given to the field of cooperation and the agriculture loans at zero percent interest have been hiked from Rs 3 lakh to 5 lakh, and 31 lakh farmers have taken benefit of the same. As many as 30 lakh farmers have registered for the Yashasvi scheme and also the Raitha Shakti scheme. If the cooperative banks join hands with the government, the business transaction will reach Rs 3 crore to Rs 5 crore. The digitalization of the cooperation field is going on in a phased manner and it can work in all fields.
Contribution of Belegavi district
Bommai said farmers, traders, and citizens have made a good contribution to the growth of the cooperative field, and this culture is still found in this place. The capital is more in the Belagavi cooperative field and offers all kinds of loans and facilities to its customers. The cooperative field is ruling in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Development on a big scale is assured if the field is groomed legally and morally, and will emerge as an alternative force to Communism and capitalism. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is bringing a lot of changes to the cooperative field. This field must improve its economy and join the system with other financial companies. The Government of India started the Department of Cooperation to bring all PLD banks under one roof. “I know Mahantesh Kavatagimath for the last 30 years as his father was also associated with the field of cooperation. Mahanetsh has worked in KLE Society, DCC Bank, and a sugar factory and then started a cooperative bank. These banks have won the faith and confidence of the people of Belagavi and it must be protected”.
Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Mutt, former MLC Mahantesh Kavatagimath, KLE Society’s founder Prabhakar Kore and others were present.
