A Two day International Conference at VTU- MBA Belgaum*

Commemorating its 25 years of existence Visvesvaraya technological University- Department of Management Studies is conducting a two day International Conference on “Emerging trends challenges and opportunities in Global Business and technology” on the 8th and 9th of June 2023.
Prof. Thomas Russack Professor and Director, Institute of Automation and Industrial Management, Germany was the chief guest and the keynote speaker at the international conference. The program was being jointly organised in association with AIMS.

Inaugurating the program Prof. Thomas highlighted the importance of digital strategies and digital transformation in today’s scenario. He also said that change management is a significant challenge these days.
It’s difficult to survive without innovation and without delivering value to customers. He said that institutions and corporates are towards greater transparency and value addition these days.
It’s the question of survival of the fittest in both the Global and domestic markets.
Prof.B. Ramesh, former Dean and honorary Professor of Central University of Kerala was the guest of honour. In his address Prof. Ramesh lauding the department of VTU MBA stressed the need to network and exchange ideas and thoughts for the mutual growth of institutions and Management education as a whole.
Earlier in the program Prof. T.N.Srinivas, Registrar, evaluation welcomed the gathering. He highlighted the latest best practices that are being introduced in the system at VTU and underlined that VTU figures in the top 100 institutions as per the NIRF rankings.

Dr.M.M. Munshi chairperson, VTU- MBA spoke about the conference he said that the conference has received an overwhelming response from across the states and abroad. He said that the organisers have received 203 full research papers on various topics. He stressed that conducting of conferences not only fulfills the cardinal objective of a University of creation of new knowledge but it also helps people to come together, network, share and care and mutually grow together. Dr Munshi said that training students to solve immediate problems and to continually innovate and architect for challenges that may emerge in the future is the thing for the institutions today.


Prof. Rangaswamy the Registrar of the university presided over the function he lauded the efforts of the Department of Management studies in conducting this high profile intellectual exercise.
He said we have to provide the country with job providers and not job seekers.
He also said that the economy today needs people who can produce quality goods and export rather than import. He enumerated the kind of competition that exists in the economy and also the opportunities that exist for the young mind.
He appealed to the students to take advantage of such programs and shape their skills and careers by it. The program is likely to witness technical sessions by high profile people like Dr. Bhimraya Metri IIM, Director, Nagpur and entrepreneur and tedx speaker Mr Palakkad on the second day of the conference. Several dignitaries and delegates are expected to participate online and offline in this international conference
The program ended by vote of thanks by Dr. Laxminarayan from VTU.
