After Belagavi Incident, Govt Stops Immunising M-R Vaccines Throughout State

After the death of three Belagavi children who died witnin 24 hours of injected M-R-VAX II (Measles and Rubella Virus Vaccine ) has stopped injecting the vaccine in the state from Monday.

The health department suspected that the Primary Health Center might have injected the – date barred MR – to the babies caused for the death. “With immididate effect the government has has instructed to stop immunising the M-R doses and sent doses, including st Belagavi district to the test for laboratory,” an official from health department said.

Many Children Specialists have expressed fear over the outcome of M-R dose saying they never seen such an adverse impact on babies.

Three of the 17 babies immunised the dose at a drive held at Saalahalli in Ramdurg taluk last week. The government has suspended an ANM nurse and a pharmacist on their alleged lapses to the tregrdy.
