All measures would be taken to ensure that no community or outfit takes law into its hands. We will take action to maintain peace and order. All are equal for the State government. We will work without any differentiation or bias, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

Reacting to former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy’s statement that he would launch a protest against the State government from April 16, Bommai said, “everyone has the right to protest. But I will not respond to baseless statements. BJP is a national party. People of Karnataka have blessed us. We are confident of giving good governance for the people. Many issues that he has raised are about orders issued in 2001, 2002 during the past regimes. I have not issued any new orders,” Bommai said.

Azaan: We will take everyone into confidence

Replying to a question about the Azaan issue, Bommai said, there is a High Court order regarding Azaan. There is also an order asking as to why it has not been implemented. It even specifies the sound decibel level. There is an order to install Decibel meters. It is a job which needs to be implemented by taking everyone into confidence, not by force.

Cabinet expansion

As for cabinet expansion, the Chief Minister said that so far no discussion has been held. “There is a possibility of the issue coming up if I get an appointment to meet Amit Shah and JPNadda,” Bommai said.

KT Ramarao’s tweet is ridiculous
