Close on the heels of suicide of Belagavi Civil Work contractor Santosh Patil at Udupi, another person, said to be from the same profession ended life by hanging to the ceiling fan at a lodge in the town on Wednesday.

Basavaraj, 47, who checked-in the room four days ago last seen to the lodge staff on Wednesday morning, however, he didn’t neither came out nor there was any sound from his room was heard, the room attenders informed the management who called police and found him dead hanging.

His family from Belagavi has rushed to Balehonnur and more details could be known after their response.

Santosh Patil ended life due to alleged mental torture by BJP leader, former minister KS Eshwarappa over clearing the work done bills amounted more than Rs 4 crore for which the latter had said to be demanded 40% of his share as his commission, to get sanctioned the bills, last month.
