Since two days there is restless rain at the Athani Taluk especially yesterday it was heavier than ordinary. Due to the rainfall the produces which were cut from the yards have been surrounded by the water which has made the farmers exhausted.

The farmers with lot of efforts are taking out the sugarcanes from the yards and are carrying them to the sugar factories nearby. Many brooks have got filled and the water level at the Krishna River is crossing the danger level.

The farmers who produced the corns have put their hands over their heads as many hector areas have completely filled with the rain water and the corns are getting decayed as the farmers aren’t able to take the corn out due to the restless rain.

The red alert has been declared at Viaypur dist. of which the Athani is end border so the taluk administration has started the preparation of the flood prevention and precautions. In case of emergency the Police Dept. and firefighter dept. as well as the administrative dept will be ready for the help said the Athani tahshildar.
