MB Boralingaiah who assumed charge as the Police Commissioner of Belagavi is a medical doctor by profession. He completed his MBBS degree from Medical College at Mysuru in 2004.

Hailing from Mallanayakahalli, village Maddur taluk of Mandya district, Dr Boralingaiah is an IPS officer of 2008 batch. Born in 1978, Dr. Boralingaiah passed UPSC Examination in third attempt.

Boralingaiah, interested in public service, besides doing super-specialisation in medical course would take six years, hence he decided to take up Union compeitative examinations.
