Belagavi District In-charge Minister Govind Karjol said entire Smart City works at Belagavi would be completed in one-and-a-half-year.

Addressing the party workers at Belagavi on Monday he said the Smart City project at Belagavi was delayed due to various reasons of which the elected body to City Corporation was a reason. As Congress leader DK Shivakumar alleged government collected ‘Kickback’ in the project, he asked the former to issue proofs to the allegations.

He said 16 different brand of mango and cashew nets are being grown in Belagavi, to export the same, government has proposed to establish a Food Processing Unit in Belagavi district.

Government’s proposal to shift the Rani Channamma University near Hire Bagewadi has commenced and various new layout of housing colonies will be developed by Belagavi Urban Development Authority, he said.
