A decision on holding a BJP convention in Mandya would be taken after discussing the issue in the party forum, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

The Chief Minister was speaking to media persons after conveying his birthday wishes to former Chief Minister SM Krishna.

Replying to a question on leaders from other parties joining BJP, Bomai said, “people from all parts of the State are coming to BJP. Kolar and Mandya are especially seeing this big influx. They are being inducted in batches. People, especially the youth are showing keen interest to join BJP in Southern Karnataka. A strong young leadership is set to emerge in Mandya. A strong wave is seen in Mandya in favour of bJP,” Bommai said.

On the possibility of ST Jayaram joining BJP, Bommai said, “not only ST Jayaram. We will speak to all those who are keen to join BJP accepting the party’s ideology and principles.”

The Chief Minister wished a healthy long life for SM Krishna who is celebrating his 90th birthday. “I wish to get his guidance for the government and the people of Karnataka,” Bommai said.
