BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa said he would discuss with Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai about establising Chikkodi in Belagavi district as a new district.

Addressing the “Janaswarajya” convention at Chikkodi on Sunday, he said he has assured about formation of Chikkodi district when he was the chief minister and is binding to his assurance.

He said Karnataka is the only government in the nation which gave cash compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the fully collapsed Rs 50000 to the partially collapsed houses for rain and its related incidents.
