As one from their community from undivided Mangaluru district – Balakrishna Shetty, who was running a Paan shop in Vadagavi was stabbed to death by one of his ‘credit customers’, this week, the Bunts Association has said it was happened due to the failure of police.

A meeting of the Bunts held at Bantara Bhavan at New Gandhi nagar on Friday condemned the incident.

Sujjan from Bilwara Association sppealed the community to be united and in touch with each other to tackle such incidents.

Belagavi Hotel Owner’ Association Vice President Mahesh Shetty said police to get free from their responsibilities would call both the paties and settle the matter, but not try to correct the accused.

A memorandum was submitted to Belagavi district administration in this regard.
