Burglars on Saturday night made away gold, silver ornaments worth Rs 3.5 lakh from the house of jeweler Vinayak Anvekar residing at Adarsh Nagar in Hindwadi.

Anvekar’s family had been to Haveri for the Ganesh festival when the incident occurred. Burglars gained entry into the house by breaking open the lock and madeaway with ornaments kept at the steel cupboards. The incident came to light after Anvekar returned home on Sunday.
