Bagalkot : Four of six from Ramdurg taluk travelling in a car drowned when it overturned into Ghataprabha canal near Halaki village in Mudhol taluk of the district in the early hours of Friday.

The car was travelling to Ramdurg from Mudhol when it hit to a milestone installed roadside and overturned in the canal. Mahadevgouda, 27, Aritata, 26, Vijay, 26, and Sunil, 24 drowned. Two others survived admitted to a private hospital. The dead bodies were lifted up from the canal through crane.

The Lokapur police have registered a case.
