At the Town Panchayat election of the Chinchali of the Raibag taluka of Belagavi Dist. the independent candidates that were supported by the Congress have been unanimously elected. This act has created an abashment to the BJP MLA Duryodhan Aihole.

Mahadev Padolkar has been elected as a president and as a vice president Sangita Malajure has been elected unanimously. After the victory the local Congress leaders celebrated the victory by distributing sweets and burning crackers.
