Hubballi, April.07:  The BJP Parliamentary Board meeting will be held in Delhi tomorrow (Saturday) to finalise the list of candidates and he will be going to Delhi for the meeting, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

He told reporters here on Friday that the collection of opinions at the Assembly and district level had been completed and also discussed at the state level. The candidates have been shortlisted and for each constituency, two to three names are shortlisted. The Parliamentary Board will take a final decision.

Not aware

The CM said the former MLC Nagaraj Chabbi has not contacted him and he did not know anything about it. The vow among the aspirant is not something new as it happens at every Assembly constituency level. ‘I don’t want to comment about it”.

Varuna constituency
Asked about Minister V.Somanna contesting against Leader of the Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah in the Varuna constituency, Bommai said no decision has been taken in this regard, and discussion about all the constituencies will be held tomorrow which included the Varuna seat.

Film actors’ support of political parties is not new
Asked about former CM and Janata Dal (Secular) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy’s comments about the Kannada actor, Sudip extending support to him, Bomma sought to know did Kumaraswamy had not fielded candidates in the elections previously. Has the JDS leader forgotten about bringing Ambareesh to campaigning in the 1996 Ramanagar by-polls? “I, along with Ambareesh had jointly campaigned. The film actors extending support to political parties is not new as they had done in the past to all parties. This is prevalent in the country and also in Karnataka. Why Kumaraswamy is shocked if a superstar comes for the BJP campaign. This has scared him because of which such statements are made. The writing on the wall is clear and loud that the JDS will lose in the coming Assembly election. “While we have the confidence of winning, they (JDS) have the confidence of losing the poll battle”.
