Reacting to his negative comments on Belagavi Rural MLA Laxmi Hebbalkar, the Congress workers held a protest against BJP District (Rural) Present Sanjay Patil and burnt his portrait at Rani Channamma circle in Belagavi on Monday.

Congress workers from Uchagoan Block said their agitation would continue till he apologises the legislstor for his alleged defamatory comments which are false and warned if not would agitate in every village in Belagavi Rural constituency.

Patil who represented Belagavi Rural constituency twice had allegedly commented on Laxmi which Congress said it was an insult made to women.
