As were not allowed to get married by their parents, a pair from Chamarajnagar district, locked inside a car and burnt themselves alive by setting afire to the vehicle on Saturday, Aug 14. The tragedy occurred near Kinakanahalli in Yalanduru taluk.

Kanchana, 20, a staff nurse at the government hospital at Chamarajnagar district hospital and cab driver Srinivas, 23 were in love and planned to get married. They had taken each other’s wedding proposal to their parents which were opposed by them.

As not live without each other, both decided to end their lives, been to Kinakanahalli in Srinivas car locked themselves inside the vehicle, poured petrol on them and set afire.

The bodies and the car were badly burnt and not in the position to recognize. The Mamballi police are investigating the case.
