At the riverbank of the Krishna at the limits of Aawarkhod village of Athani Taluk of Belagavi Dist. a big shock was awaiting for the Police that visited the place and had registered the case.It was a properly planned murder and is a story of the murder of an unfortunate who stole gold in the lust from around 1200 km form Varanasi.
On 4th of this a month a dead body was found in a decayed state along with the piece of gold in the pocket the Athani Police who registered the case and started the investigation has successfully resolved the case.
It is said as the victim is identified to be Sagar Patil who had started working at the gold shop at the Mughal Sarai but the lust of the gold has drove him to cheat the people and come settle in his village along with the gold he looted from the shop. When he started getting frightened he had informed the whole incident to one of his friend namely Navanath Babar. The Navanath on the name of helping him has stabbed him and had run away throwing his friend’s body at the Krishna River.
This whole story of the gold and murder has been explained by the wife of the dead victim as she had identified the decayed dead body. The Athani PSI Kumar Hadakar has successfully resolved the case led under the guidance of CPI Shankargouda Basangoudar and the DYSP V Girish and has arrested the accuser who had ditched his friend over the gold.
