Ex-Navy Person Hacked to Death Over Finance Matter, Four Held

The Belagavi Rural police arrested four persons related to the murder of Nagesh Patil from Ranakunde village in Belagavi taluk. The accused allegedly murdered Nagesh over the loan which his father owed from them was not returning in time.

A police team led by Inspector Sunilkumar Nandeshwar arrested Pramodh Sahadev Patil, his brother Sridhar, Mahendra Yallappa Kangralkar and Bomani Krishna Dokare who were the friends of deceased Nagesh.

The accused, four year ago had owed cash of Rs 20,000 to deceased Nagesh’s father. They used to force Nagesh for the return of the loan for which they had a quarrel with the deceased last week.

Nagesh had told Pramod to not ask about the matter and he would return when his father give it to him. Meanwhile, Nagesh got lost his cellphone for which he doubted on Pramodh. The issue led to another stage of quarrel which made Pramod to gang up with other accused and killed allegedly Nagesh and attack on his brother Mohan.

The accused on Sunday midnight barged into Nagesh’s house, took him and Mohan forcibly into a car they had brought, hacked to death the former and beat Mohan. Later, they turned back to Nahesh’s house and threw his dead body on the road in-front of his house. Injured Mohan undergoing treatment at the district hospital.

Nagesh was in Indian Navy who returned home after tendering resignation.
