As the anti-Karnataka organisation Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) in Karnataka has fielded a Muslim candidate to the election of Belagavi City Corporation, which has been described as ‘M and M’ ( Maratha and Muslim ) combination in the social media, BJP termed as ‘M and M’ was nothing but ‘Mara Mari’ (Fighting).

Addressing the party workers after releasing the manifesto at Belagavi on Saturday, Aug 28, Athani MLA Laxman Savadi said MES which described itself as the protecter of Hindus and opposed Muslims in its every step, has joined hands with those whom it opposed earlier, for its political gain.

He said the BJP was ready to protect the interest of the state when it come to the matter of the language, border, water etc and Hindutwa in nation.

MES, for the first time has fielded a Muslim linguistic from ward number 6 which dominated with Muslims.

Wakf Minister Shashikala Jolley said that BJP is in power in centre and state and it would “Flow money like water if BJP voted to power in Belagavi City Corporation.”.
