After Basavaraj Bommai assumed office as head of the government, lobbying to join his cabinet council from Belagavi district was gearing-up, not only those in Yeddyurappa cabinet, but rest also trying their best to join the government.

Sources said Umesh Katti, Abhay Patil, P Rajeev and Balachandra Jarkiholi to get place in the Bommai berth. Despite lost the assembly election, Laxman Savadi who got jackpot of DCM post in Yeddyurappa ministry, first-time MLA Shashikala Jolley representing Nippani constituency who got ministry under “women quota”, are expected to be axed. Kagwad MLA Srimant Patil who was given textile ministry will not be indulged in the ministry. Shashikala whose possibilities of retaining a place is said to be not possible with her corruption allegations, who is trying best to get influenced from RSS.

Savadi whose appointment as DCM was lifted many eyebrows up with surprise was said to be the back seater this term in the assembly as he could not be considered this time.Shashikala who was given important Women and Child Development Ministry may not be considered as she landed in corruption of ” Egg Deal” case.

Belagavi South MLA Abhay Patil representing for the fourth-term and P Rajeev representing Raibhag-Kudachi constituency for the first time are expected to join the Ministry. Patil not only for his seniority but also under “Jain Quota”, while Rajeev under backward community.

Balachandra Jarkiholi representing Arabhavi constituency for the fourth consecutive term would replace his elder brother, Gokak MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi
