Girl Shaves Head Hair for Wigs to Donate Cancer Patients

Though hair was a special gift to ladies and doubles their beauty and respect, a 11-year-old girl from Kerala got shaved her head to donate hair for wigs that will be worn by cancer patients.

Dilna, a daughter of Rajesh Kumar and Jamuna, studying in category 6 at Kendriya Vidyalaya-2 at Ekkur, has donated her long locks to bring smile on the faces of cancer patients who looses hair for treatment. Being a female she knew the importance of hair and also how the women patients feel insult with the baldness, Dilna decided to donate her locks when she was nine year-old and grew her hair for two years without cutting it. She had decided to donate her hair on her 11th birthday on January 14, however, couldn’t due to Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown.

She got shaved her hair at “Yacchu’s Hair Garage” on Sept 22, Wednesday. The “Yacchu’s Hair Garage” collects hair for cancer patients and dispatches to hair bank of Miracle Charitable Association in Trissur.

Dilna had decided to donate her hair for cancer patients after noticing patients losing hair while undergoing treatment for cancer. “With an intention to donate again, I will not cut my hair”, she declared.

A native of Kankol in Kannur, she is presently residing at Ekkur in Kerala
