Hubballi : To protest against the fees hike for MBBS course in the state, the Karnataka Association of Resident Doctors (KARD) at Hubballi held a protest in Hubballi on Thursday.
The doctors said the fees for medical course being charged id the highest in the nation. Fives has been hiked for five time since 2012 to 2018. There were around 4000 students pursuing post graduate medical courses in the state by paying Rs 1.29 lakh fee per year.
The health department which deployed medical student and doctors for COVID-19 duty was told of paying Rs 10,000 as Covid Allowance every month, however, not a single rupee paid yet. Putting their lives to risk, doctors serving the infected. Those completed medical course and serving in rural areas were also not paid any allowance, they said.
As a protest, the doctors rolled on the ground.
