The JD(S) on Wednesday, Aug 18, announced of contesting election to all the 58 wards of Belagavi City Corporation scheduled on Sept 3.

Party leader Shankar Madalagi said party leaders including former CM, Kumaraswamy will campaign in the election. He expressed confidence of getting good response from people as they know what Kumaraswamy did to the district when he was the chief minister. He was the man behind constructing Suvarna Vidhan Soudha, conducting the Legislative Session here.

He said though the party was weak in Belagavi, it would use the election opportunity to strengthen the party here.
