Kalasa-Banduri Project to be Taken up Next Day of Court Verdict : Karjol

Irrigation Minister Govind Karjol said the State government would take up the project of Kalasa-Banduri Canal project on very next day of decision of the Supreme Court.

Speaking to news persons at Belagavi on Wednesday, he said government was preparing the project of the work which would be implemented practically once the court give its verdict. He said the Water Sharing Tribunal reserved 13.4tmc feet of water to state, of which 5tmc feet would be used for drinking purpose and rest share for generating the power.

The state has got nod from the Environment department for the project in 2015, however, Goa and Maharashtra objected to the project and filed suit with the court. Karnataka also has filed a writ petition on the matter. The project would be undertaken next day if the verdic comes in favour of the state.

To quaries, Karjol said Kumaraswamy might have given statement about RSS to please someone. RSS was a patriotic’ organisation, Kumaraswamy and Congress leader Siddaramaiah should stop commenting such false remarks.

He said the norms that introduced to the celebration of Dasara at Mysuru would be applicable to Kittur Utsav to be celebrated three days from Oct 21.
