Karnataka State District In-Charge Minister S T Somshekhar said the Karnataka Bandh called by various organizations to oppose the APMC and Land Reform Act is politically motivated. Speaking to the reporters the minister said, only a score of farmers and associations are opposing the acts.

He further said “the farmers will have several benefits from the acts, they will be empowered to sell their produce free from the mediators.” He also said he has visited 27 districts and the farmers are happy with the initiatives.
