Belagavi : The special team formed yo investigate Khanapur’s Arbaz murder case traced the case where it was a case of interfaith love wherein the girl’s parents hired ‘Supari Killers” to murder the former.

Arbaz was in love with a girl named Shweta Kumbar since two years and despite warning from girl’s parents to stay away from both were preparing to get married.

Shweta’s father Irrappa Kumbar and mother Sushila Kumbar hired Pundalik alias Maharaj who called and Arbaz on Sept 26 and warned him to stay away from Shweta. Arbaz was found laid on the railway track at Khanapur taluk on Sept 28. During interrogation, Pundalik confessed that they be-headed Arbaz at some other place and to divert the matter threw the body on railway track to focus that he was killed in railway accident.

Police also recovered an private ambulance belonged to a saffon faction near the body where Arbaz was dumped. ‘Supari Killer’ Pundalik alias ‘Maharaj’, Nagappa Mutagekar and a few in the murder case were belonging to Hindu outfits and one was from Muslim religion.

Apart from ‘supari killer’ Pundalik and Shweta’s parents other arrested have been identified as Kutabuddin Alhabaksha Bepari, Maruti Prahalad Sugat, Manjunath Tukaram Gondali, Ganapati Jnaneshwar Sugati, Irappa Basavanni Kambar, Prashanth Kallappa Patil, Praveen Shankar Pujeri and Shridhar Mahadev Doni. All the arrested were remanded to Judicial Custody.

IPC Section 302, 201, 341, 120, 384, 388 and 149 have been framed against the murderers. A team under Bailhongal DySP was formed to detect the case.
