Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has been tested positive for Covid-19 and has been admitted to Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai. She is 92.

“The iconic singer Didi has very mild symptoms of the virus. Considering her age, her care needs to be taken. So on the advice of the doctors, she has been admitted to the hospital,” Lata’s family said.

In November 2019, Lata was admitted to hospital due to viral chest congestion. The Bharat Ratna awardee later recovered from the infection.

Considered one of the greatest playback singers in Indian cinema, Lata Mangeshkar received the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour, in 2001. Lata is also the recipient of several awards including Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Dada Saheb Phalke Award, and many other national level film relsted awards.
