Today Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti were celebrated meaningfully at the Veerasoudha of Belagavi.

The Veerasoudha at Belagavi is built as a remembrance of 1924 of Congress Session led by Mahatma Gandhi and is situated at the same place where the Session was held. Every year the celebrations are held in the same place. The same way today the Dist. Administration of Belagavi held the Gandhi Jayanti and Ex PM Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti. The floral tributes were paid by the DC M G Herimath to the statue of Gandhi and the portrait of Lal Bahadur Shastri.

Speaking by the time the DC said, Mahatma Gandhi is a leader ever seen by the nation, he is a great leader who dedicated his whole life for the freedom of the nation. He has showed the whole world as any war can be won by the truth, non-violence and the fasting.

He further added as Lal Bahadur Shastri is a leader with great simplicity and loyalty. We should walk on the way guided by theses great leaders.
