Bengaluru: A man threw acid on the body of a 23-year-old woman for rejecting his love proposal.

The victim woman identified the accused as Nagesh, who threw the acid on her when she was going to her work in the morning at Sunkadakatte on Thursday.

It was learned that Nagesh, since a few days, was forcing her to accept his proposal, which she rejected. Nagesh also tabled his proposal on Wednesday night and acted inhuman on Thursday morning.

The victim sustained burn injuries on her neck, chest and legs and is currently being treated at a hospital in the city.

A case in this regard has been registered at the Kamakshipalya police station. DCP West Division Sanjiv Patil said that the police are tracing the suspect.
