Minister Shashikala Jolley facing corruption charges in egg deal felt the heat of protest before hoisting the national flag to celebrate the 75th Independence day at Vijayapur on Aug 15.

The women wing of the district Congress committee gheraoed the minister when she alighted the car at the flag hoisting zone against whom slogans “Go Back Corrupt Shashikala, you are not deserved to hoist the national flag,” were aird.

There was a tussle between women police and the Congress workers while the minister was led to the pole of the flag. The protesting women kept silent when the flag was unfolded and to the national anthem, shoted slogans when she was reading her speech.

Congress protested against Shashikala as she was caught asking bribe of ₹ 1 crore per month to her to give egg supplying deal to Anganwadi centers in the state.
