BJP Rajya Sabha member Iranna Kadadi and about two dozen people had a lucky escape as a metal-made decorative lighting trass fell on the stage set for musical concert organised on occasion of a religious fair at Rajapur village in Mudalagi taluk on Thursday night.

Musical concert and other cultural functions were organised on occasion of ‘Chunnammadevi Jatra’ for which a temporary stage was established. The trass was collapsed a few minutes after MP Kadadi inaugurated the fair programmes.

There were about 20 people including Kadadi on the stage when the incident occurred. A iron pole fixed to support the lighting trass also collapsed. Fortunately, no electric untoward incident occured.

Speaking to news persons, MP Kadadi said the incident occurred as it was organised at an agriculture field. There was possibilities of electric related accidents. The iron pole fell just his beside, he added.
