No cases of covid positives were reported since a week and not a single death of the infected in a month in Gadag district.Earlier, one or two cases were reported per day and there are only nine active cases in the district. The cases have completely come down in rural areas in the last 15 days and more than 50 villages are completely vaccinated.However, the health department has appealed people to strictly follow the covid norms during the off festive season.On September 3, four cases were reported in Gadag and from September 4-10, not a single case was reported and the death graph has hit the ground as the last Covid death was reported on August 5.

The health department has increased the covid tests. ASHA workers are keeping a vigil on children in rural areas as many fear a possible third wave.
