Belagavi : Tukkanatti Panchayat Development Office (PDO) Veerabadra Gundi who had been to remove the encroachment of government land was beaten by the encroacher.

Siddappa Venkappa Yamunappa had encroached the government hospital land at Tukkanatti in Mudalagi taluk. PDO Gundi and the panchayat staff been to the spot to clear the encroachment and to take back the land to the position.

Yamunappa opposed the act and man handled PDO Gundi and a woman said to be his wife after seeing the scene was video recorded got tore the saree she wore and alleged that the PDO put hand on her and tore the saree.

PDO Gundi who sustained minor injuries got treated in the hospital and has filed a complaint against Yamunappa with Ghataprabha police. It was said that a person by name Siddappa Hanumannavar said to the close aide of MLA Balachandra Jarkiholi threat allegedly the PDO for filing the case.

The panchayat staff were getting video recorded the operation in their cellphones when the woman started the drama.
